𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐬? 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐜𝐨?
I’ve been asked that many times since I moved here from South Dakota. There are many logical reasons, but in reality, I was drawn to this location.
After the divorce I was looking for a place to move that would be more open to energy healing work. I did a lot of research about the area and living somewhere that had four seasons but didn’t have snow was really appealing to me.
Granted we had two snowstorms this year, but I actually appreciated them and was greatly amused at the snow on the cacti! 🌵
But what it really boiled down to, is when I flew out here and experienced Las Cruces for the first time, it felt right.
All of the logical reasons would have gone out the window if it would have felt “off” when I got here. The town itself looks much different than I had anticipated. The southwestern architecture is absolutely amazing. The Organ Mountains are gorgeous as well.
There are cons anywhere you live…knowing that, I still wasn’t expecting a few of them.
I wasn’t fond of putting my shoe on and having a lizard wiggle it’s body against my foot trying to escape. I still shudder thinking about that.
I am not fond of the cockroaches that show up randomly – thank goodness for diatomaceous earth.
The people I have met are really welcoming and encouraging.
I’m currently in a business mentoring program, where New Mexico State University, the City of Las Cruces and the State of New Mexico offer a free program for small business owners to help them launch successful businesses. Professional advising appointments are available at no cost to the business owner where experts in the community donate their time to help businesses succeed. Here’s the link in case there are other people in the area that are interested: Las Cruces Biz Sprint
✨ Some people call it the land of enchantment. I have to say I agree with them. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely stunning and I’m grateful that I get to experience them. I’m looking forward to helping Las Cruces become a healthier community.
