Tip to Reduce Holiday Stress

For many of us we have it all wrong. We have it all backasswards.

We believe “I will feel good when XYZ is done.” Or “when I achieve XYZ I’ll relax.”

Let’s flip it…especially during the holiday season when stress is at an all time high for many people.

I feel good, I take care of my needs AND then I go out into the world. What do you need to do take care of your needs first before taking care of anyone else’s wants?

For many of us this is a possibility, unless you have small kids who need your assistance. We might have to sit with the emotional pain that arises, guilt, shame, overwhelm, etc. due to limiting beliefs that we carry.

When we take care of ourselves first and then others, we show up in a healthier way. Less anxiety, overwhelm, anger, etc. People around us can relax more when we aren’t so stressed.

“𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈…”

What would it look like to fill your soul? It’s probably not mindlessly scrolling social media. It’s probably not googling things to death.

It could be a 10 minute walk, it could be a 2 minute breathing exercise, mindfully drinking a cup of coffee, etc. It could be a day off doing something that fills your spirit but it doesn’t have to be a big deal.
