Look Beneath the Symptoms

You may have heard the saying: Iโ€™ve got the weight of the world on my shoulders.

If a person has the following symptoms:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Shoulder pain

๐Ÿ‘‰ Knee pain

๐Ÿ‘‰ IBS

๐Ÿ‘‰ Headaches

๐Ÿ‘‰ Anxiety

๐Ÿ‘‰ Depression

in our health care system, they might see a general practitioner and then a specialist for some of the issues.

What if the real issue, the issue the person cannot see, is that they worry about other people all the time. Or maybe this person has a hard time saying no because then they feel guilty. It may feel natural to say yes because the guilt feels worse, but their body is shutting down because they are doing too many things.

๐Ÿ’Ž What feels normal or natural to us may be the underlying issue causing painful symptoms.

Think about how hard it is on a person to carry extra weight on their shoulders. Now imagine taking that weight off. You can breathe easier. Move easier. Walking with someone is much different than carrying their burdens for them. Giving other people a chance to say yes might take away a burden you were not meant to carry. If you could see (and remove) the weight that is riding on your shoulders, maybe a few or all of the symptoms would disappear. ย

Everything is connected.

If one aspect of someoneโ€™s life is out of balance, whether it is physical, emotional, mental or spiritual, then the other aspects will be affected as well.

๐ŸŽ Looking beneath the symptoms is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Focusing just on the symptoms wonโ€™t bring long-term relief of chronic issues.
