Stop trying so hard to trick your brain into being positive.
Say what!?!
I know, I know, it’s kinda crazy talk given what you’ve probably heard about positive affirmations and being told you just have to think positively.
If you aren’t able to follow through with the boundaries you’ve made around self-care or self-love, then the false positivity is likely activating or triggering your nervous system!
And an activated nervous system or dysregulated nervous system can cause even more problems when your goal is to love your life.
Or laugh more.
✨ Tranquility Toning Technique 1 Minute Self-Care Routine
Or feel more tranquility.
Here’s what to do instead:
You can call it the Triple T Ritual if you want to be like the cool kids!
This technique promotes relaxation and reduces stress while also shifting the energy of your body, aligning to what you *need* more of
What are you desperately craving?
What is pissing you off?
I *need* more ________________ ? More tranquility, patience, freedom, joy, love, etc.
Let’s Begin!
- You might want to play some meditation music to start or imagine you are somewhere that nourishes and soothes your soul.
- Set your timer for 1 minute.
- Try saying the following statement softly out loud:
- NOTE -> saying it out loud is important…because to hear your own voice claiming what you need more of, shifts the energy!
- “Only love lives here.” or “I deserve compassion and nourishment.”
- Scan your body gently and with curiosity from your feet to your head and back down.
- Noticing any sensations, you might feel in your body as you claim what you need more of. Notice if you feel floaty or tired.
- Curiosity is important…it’s all interesting, there is no right or wrong.
- After the timer goes off, write down any changes that occur or any insights you got with this practice.
Instead of false positivity or toxic positivity, offering compassion, love, and nourishment will get you a whole lot closer to your goal of more ____________________ (insert what you need more of.)
COMMIT TO AT LEAST 5 DAYS
Do this for the next 5 days before hopping out of bed and when you experience anxiety, a panic attack, or depression, you might just be able to stay present enough to tap into the Triple T Ritual AKA Tranquility Toning Technique to offer yourself what you need, create safety, and soothe your nervous system.
INTENTION
I recommend paying attention to the intention…that is really important here!
And the intention of this technique is radical acceptance which is compassionate, loving, and nourishing to your heart.
After 5 days you might want to try positive affirmations again and see how your nervous system responds around the thought of setting boundaries for what you need more of in your life.
