Feeling Disempowered By Healthcare Professionals

“You are like a dog with a bone.”

Said with a smile and a nice, gentle voice.

“I admire that.”

𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭. 💩 💩 💩

I didn’t then.

At the time when my therapist said that to me, I completely trusted him with my health and wellbeing. I trusted him more than myself.

We don’t go to therapy when “YAY! My life is awesome!!!”

We go because we don’t know what else to do.

When life has given us one too many hits and we just don’t know where to turn or how we got so off course.

We go when we are hurting.

😧 I went when I had hit rock bottom and was barely functioning, even though I could put on a great act for a few hours at a time. Read that story here.

Every person that I do energy healing with, has had an issue of feeling disempowered by a health care professional. One of the things I do when I start working with a new client is to walk through an empowerment exercise. Once the “hi, how are you, how is the weather there” conversation is over, and we transition to the session, there can be a lot of resistance because of past experiences with a healthcare professional or an authority figure.

This is especially true when a person has experienced a major trauma with a healthcare professional/authority figure. 👿

During energy healing sessions, we are a team working together and it needs to FEEL that way to the person I am working with. Power over, or a feeling of disempowerment is a recipe for disaster. Or worse yet, the person needs to have a lot more sessions before they see results.

“I don’t know why I need to _______ but I’m trusting that little voice.”

✨ Trusting our intuition. ✨ Trusting our instincts. ✨ Trusting ourselves.

Yes please!!!
